Tristen Shields : Here Lies Sea Monster
DWL047 . Released April 7, 2009 . Add to Cart : $5 . iTunes Music Store . eMusic Description Five years may be a long time to wait for a follow-up to the electro-folk fusion of 2004's Migrations, but Here Lies Sea Monster proves well worth the delay, with 5 new tracks of lush folk-pop by this Cincinnati singer-songwriter. On this EP, Tristen has traded the electronic blips and buzzes of his previous work for horns, strings and anthemic choruses, filling out his sparse folk with orchestral indiepop in the vein of Sufjan Stevens or Belle & Sebastian. The result is a soaring, joyous burst of melody that makes the idea of waiting another five years sweet torture.
The CD comes packaged on recycled paper with a beautiful fold-out illustration by Leigh Cox - and you can downloasd a digital version for free from the links to the left.© two thousand ~ twenty . datawaslost
